Psalm 119:18-19 NLT

Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.
I am a stranger on earth;
do not hide your commands from me.

When God made Adam, He fashioned Him from clay, as a divine potter. I imagine Him forming his very form with His hands of love! When He came to the eyes, He set them in, and then when He breathed life into the nostrils of the man, His spirit immediately quickened to life…he opened his eyes! Immediately, a brilliant gleaming orb began to receive the Light before Him! What a glorious thought—to see God!

I am reminded of the man born blind in Luke 9:6-7:
Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. 7 He told him, "Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam" (Siloam means "sent"). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!

Jesus, as God, created new eyes from the clay, just as He did with the first man! What else did he say that day? Verse 5 says, "But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world." Oh Jesus! He was the first light that man saw! He is the Light we see!

His Light is found in His laws and decrees! His love is found in Christ, the Light! Everywhere, everything points to the love of Christ. Even in the absence of love and in the presence of horror in this dark world, we are aware of the love of God!

Yes, Lord, open our eyes to receive more of Your Light---Jesus! Let us be Your lightbearers to this darkness we call our home. Let us be revealers of the truth of Jesus Christ to those who cannot see, who are groping in the dark, bound by Satan! Poor, poor blind men, longing to see, yet cannot. Lord use me!

John 12:46

I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.

2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
