Humility
Humility
An enormous part of spiritual growth is humility. Often, being humbled can be felt as a bitter or rude awakening to one's self awareness and is and can be quite uncomfortable.
How often we can be humbled. I thought it would be nice if we could stop and think for a minute. How has each of us been humbled. How often? Have we learned anything from it.
Upon this thought, I think it would be great if we could share our personal experiences in humility and how it has helped us grow. How it affected our lives and the lives of those around us. And perhaps through this, we can teach, learn and be humbled through this thread.
And most importantly, how did being humbled bring you closer to Christ.
I, myself, am humbled quite often, as I fight my flesh and attitude. And it is not fun, nor is it a smooth ride. It can make my body burn in embarrasment and burn in a quiet rage that can shout out..."How dare they!!!" yet, how amazing it is, that soon after the burning dies out, I can see a message and learn something that puts my fleshy self into place....even if only momentarily.

Re: Humility
often humility comes with this.....which is often so very difficult to do....
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
(Psalms 55:22)

[color:6c16=DarkOrchid:6c16]It can also come with bitterness and resentment.....thus....
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no
man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail
of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing
up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;"
(Hebrews 12:14-15)
